A timeline of growth
serving customers

1884

The Beginning

Patrick W. Ryan started an earthmoving company in his barn to perform embankment construction for railroads. In 1913, William H. Ryan, Patrick’s oldest son and a graduate in Civil Engineering, started P.W. Ryan Sons, an earthmoving firm which became one of the first roadbuilding organizations in the State of Wisconsin.

1954

Adding to the Family

William, Thomas and Donald Ryan, the sons of William H. Ryan, after graduating as Civil Engineers, began their own highway building partnership, Ryan Brothers Company. In 1957, that partnership became Ryan Incorporated of Wisconsin to better serve the growing business.

1985

National Expansion

Throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s, operations expanded to serve clients across the nation. In 1985, Ryan Incorporated Central was formed under the management of the fourth generation of Ryans: Patrick, James, Matthew, David, Nancy and Adam to continue this tradition of service.

Present

Continuing the Tradition

The fifth generation of Ryans has joined the fourth generation. Ben Ryan and Joe Ryan are adding to the legacy of earthwork built upon relationships and a culture of safety and business integrity.
